Work here at the ranch has been suspended. We are leaving. The RVs are too vulnerable to wind. Flooding is not a problem here. Only the trees coming down in the wind would pose problems for the RVs. Let's hope Isaac gets downgraded. Right now he is nearly a hurricane and 48 hours from passing by the mouth of Tampa Bay. If he stays long enough, water accumulations could threaten transportation for the RNC.
I'm headed northeast to Debary, Fl on Sunday. If Isaac keeps moving, I'll be fine there. If it stalls, as TS Fay did in 2008, Lk. Monroe may flood. I'll be at least 150 miles east of the eye, and far enough from harms way to be safe. I've emptied my waste tanks and filled the propane tank. Maintaining a connection to power is important, and to fresh water. But battery backup and the fresh water tank are fine, but no air conditioning? I"d have to start up the generator. Heck, I'm ready. Let's roll!
