Here in Debary, Florida, Tropical Storm Isaac has produced a fair amount of rain, but no Tropical Storm conditions. I've seen no wind speeds in excess of 39 mph, or even 20 mph. The rain has been soaking here next to Lake Monroe but after some brief ponding of water, the sandy soil absorbs the rain and it dries out again.
This Monday morning brings considerable rain bands from the southeast. There is very little wind. Observing a radar image generated in Melbourne, (NWS Composite Loop)I can see the rain bands are totally absent back in Tampa. And though I'm sure it's windy there, it appears dry. A bit frustrating to see that I've crossed the state and subject to more rain.
Riding the BMW in the rain feels very stable. Riding at night in the rain has been an issue for me for years. I'll be happier when things dry up. Windy, my stir crazy, 20 lb. feline is holding up. He likes jumping in and out of the storage areas in the RV. I'm sure he'll be happy to get back to his own home, but he's certainly adopted my spirit of adventure. We've been on the road nearly a month.
