These saddlebags Windy is investigating hold a week's worth of groceries. I clipped them to my bicycle and went shopping. Although there were easily 15 pounds of consumables inside, they bicycle handled nimbly and with very little extra effort. Living in downtown Tampa as I do, I'm realistically thinking that I could get by without an automobile. What fun that might be!
Another feeling I had bicycling home fro the store made me think of the motorcycle trip to Newfoundland. I remember the exhilaration from being fully self-contained with food and bedding and shelter. Bicycling could do that for me as well. Hmmm...bike to Canada? Don't encourage me.
