There's a trick to packing. The task itself is monumental. Overwhelming. Crushing. But if I keep enough calories in my system, get a good night's sleep, (and/or catch a nap during the afternoon), and just pack one box at a time, I am successful. Packing one box at a time also means picking one room, and then one area of that room, and even one shelf in that area of the room. When the tasks are broken down far enough, there's no madness with dashing from one room to the next, or carrying a box half fully to the garage and then bringing the box back upstairs to fill.
My storage unit still has a the disassembled BMW motorcycle in it. There's room to work on it, and hopefully there will still be room after the furniture gets packed in. There's a friend who may want some of the furniture, so I may not have to store as much as I've planned on. Although there are many variables, if I just pack one box at a time, work on one vehicle at a time, I can keep the madness to a minimum. And...eventually...there will be fewer vehicles and fewer complications. Life is getting simpler, much simpler. Could Sitka, AK. really be on my itinerary? Woohoo! Roadtrip!
