Leaving Cimarron Canyon Tomorrow

10/2/14 The park ranger said that they are turning off the water and closing the restrooms the campground tomorrow. I've spoken with the ranger at Coyote Creek S.P. and found that they will stay open until the end of the month. I'm hoping to stay as long as I can in the mountains here. When the temperatures get to the freezing point, which will be soon, I'll have to leave.
I spent a good deal of time working on the Moto-Guzzi. She's not adjusting to the change in elevation well, and though good transportation, she's not happy.  I stopped at a local bookstore in Cimarron and chatted with the proprietor, Jesse. He had an old Airhead BMW outside the store, and a set of wrenches. He and I did some of the routine checks to see if the issue with the Guzzi was electrical, or indeed carburation. We didn't make much headway, but Jesse was one of those people that reaches out to help a fellow motorcyclist. And again, one of the many wonderful people I've met traveling.  So we're off to Coyote Creek in the morning. Hopefully I'll get to hike Clear Creek trail today. It's all about the hiking, really. I get my spiritual hat on straight when I'm out in the woods. Nothing is too big to be handled in little pieces.
I spoke to a friend in Safety Harbor, FL last night. He told me that Sandy Beach had died Friday. That still strikes me. It may be said that I've had many mixed feelings toward Sandy, but mostly I'd like to remember how many people he helped. Truly on of a kind.
