10-4-14 Very fortunate to have the Moto-Guzzi back on the road. After the third day of busted knuckles trying all of the diagnostic tricks I knew, it turned out to be the point gap. One cylinder was getting a very weak, and then, absolutely no spark to fire the cylinder. Adjusting the points resolved the issue and I went for a great ride into Taos. The aspens are turning a golden yellow between the lush green pines. Climbing the switchbacks on Rte. 64 through the Carson National Forest I came into the mesa Taos is in. After a brief trip to the library for some Wifi research, I had a piece of banana bread and got directions through town to a wool festival. The majority the Historical Taos city is adobe brick. There's lots of tourquoise paint on the red stone colored buildings. And did I mention...this is a money town. But it not a bad town. It looks like they support bicycling well. Lots of signage and wide bike lanes. There are some beautiful homes on the way in. Very artsy with many galleries. Wouldn't mind spending some time there, but made sure I left by three because I knew there would be very little sun in Cimarron Canyon in an hour. The Guzzi purred the whole way, and now I'll have good transportation to all of the trailheads. What a great day.
