Limited Internet and Cell Service

So camping in the mountains is your thing. Did you think about the bugs out there? How about the temperature changes? Did you think that the mountains would be easy pedaling on a bicycle? How about that 5 mile walk you did in Florida...now it's up and down hills? Did you know that getting to an Internet connection or cell phone service would require a 3 mile drive? My guess is that no, you didn't think of all this. I didn't. But the weather and the exercise is great. I'm all for limiting my cell and internet use. If I'm unable to make my daily blog posts, I know you'll understand.
I arrived yesterday at a state park outside of Athens, Ga. I paid my first camping fee on this trip so far. The park is the best equipped I've seen. Numerous cabins for rent. A boat dock with jon boats and paddle boats for rent. A golf course...yes, a golf course. There is a full equistrian facility. I hiked 4 miles of the 30 plus miles of horse trails. The grounds are very well kept, and the staff was very helpful. I spoke with the ranger about the camphost opportunities, and September is the earliest available. It's not the big mountains, but it would be a great place to camp for the summer.
This morning I bicycled 12 miles. It may have been less, but the hills certainly make the ride more difficult. It's easy to get lost. Eventually I made it back to camp though. I'm still waiting to hear about the camphost position up in the mountains, so I'll go spend some time in Athens...at the Walmountain. Ciao.
